Mybase Desktop Edition for Linux/macOS/WindowsIntroducing Mybase DesktopMybase is an intuitive knowledge base management software that allows entry of unstructured text, webpages, images, documents, emails and even arbitrary files without regard to length or format. Unlike traditional database systems, Mybase accepts text input like a word processor, all information is compressed with an integrated zip utility and stored in the tree structured outline form. Mybase is now available in two editions, the desktop edition and the server edition. The desktop edition runs on personal desktop computers for efficiency and helps increase personal productivity significantly, while the server edition enables databases multi-user collaborative and accessible to co-workers over network by using a modern web browser at the client side. From the major version 9.0 on, Mybase has switched over to a new hybrid infrastructure of a native backend service, a web-based user interface and a native helper program integrated for future cross-platform support of Linux/macOS/Windows. The backend service is a standalone server program running on Linux/macOS/Windows systems and exposes a set of APIs for the web-based user interface (and/or authenticated third-party AI agents) to connect and access to the database. The helper program runs as a status icon on desktop computers for convenience of controlling the backend service to start/stop or open the user interface within the default web browser on demand. The new version is easy to setup without complicated configurations, and only a modern web browser (e.g. Chrome/FireFox/Safari/Edge) is needed at the client side with no additional software tools required. For users with Intel-based Mac (x86_64), the major version 8.x is compatible only with macOS 10.15-26.x, while macOS 26 (Tahoe) will be the final version released for Intel-based Macs. For users with Apple Silicon Mac (arm64), the major version 8.x will no longer be compatible with macOS 28 or later, as Rosetta 2 support will be discontinued. We recommend upgrading to the major version 9.x, or using the server edition instead, or preventing Mac (arm64) from upgrading to macOS 28 or later if you'd wish to continue using v8.x.
